Comunicato di chiarificazione di Psicologi per i Popoli rispetto alla questione "Emergenza Rifiuti"

This press release is issued in response to recent news releases, seriously misrepresenting, the task that the voluntary association for Psychologists Nations should lead in the coming months in Naples, the other 25 large voluntary school by the National Civil Protection .

They let us also surprised some inaccuracies and "ironic spectacle" present in some articles in print without the media themselves have previously tried at least a quick response from us to verify the data reported.

We would like to clarify some of the most marked inaccuracies in circulation, which, if taken as true, seriously mislead the existing situation:

1) What Psychologists for the Peoples?

Psychologists for the People-Federation, which brings together eleven regions (Centre North and South, including Sicily ), 13 independent groups of volunteers of Civil Defence and two associations for Economic Cooperation and Development was listed in the National Voluntary Organizations of Civil Protection, and is therefore activated to direct and discretionary decision by the Department of Civil Protection.

Nella situazione contingente, Psicologi per i Popoli ha emesso un Appello Nazionale ai colleghi volontari.
Non del nord, non del centro, non del sud. Di tutta Italia.
Appello Nazionale, rivolto agli psicologi di tutta Italia, a partire dalla stessa Campania.

2) Nord contro Sud ?

Non si tratta quindi certo di una "mobilitazione di psicologi del Nord" che vanno al Sud.

Il Sole 24 Ore ha commesso un grave errore giornalistico, cui poi gli altri media si sono accodati senza verificarlo, omettendo di indicare un'informazione essenziale: i Volontari di Protezione Civile dell'Associazione Psicologi per i Popoli provengono infatti da TUTTE le Regioni italiane, del Nord, del Centro e del Sud.

Omettere questo dettaglio è informativamente grave, perchè un'Associazione nazionale di cui molti volontari vengono proprio dal Sud viene caricaturalmente trasformata in una "forza di spedizione settentrionale", cosa che non è, e non è ovviamente mai stata.

I colleghi volontari coordinati dall'Associazione vengono dalla Sicilia, dalla Campania, dalla Puglia, dal Veneto, dalla Lombardia, dalla Val d'Aosta, dal Lazio, dal Molise, dalla Basilicata, dalla Sardegna.... and most of the availability of psychologists in the process of collecting volunteers for this action are just the South, from the same Campania (whose psychologists are responding to these days, from the perspective of voluntary work, with a truly joint mobilization significant and large).

Senza differenza alcuna di Regioni, appartenenze politiche, o altro tipo.

3) Cosa fanno veramente gli psicologi in situazioni di crisi sanitaria ed ambientale ?

E' molto diffusa, nella nostra società, l'abitudine di ritenere che lo psicologo "psicoanalizza", fa "terapia", va in giro con un lettino su cui far stendere "pazienti" e farli parlare a lungo, o cose di questo genere.

Si tratta però di uno stereotipo, pur molto forte e persistente, ma di solito completamente errato. Lo psicologo non necessariamente lavora con "pazienti", o fa "terapia": quello è invece lo psicoterapeuta o lo psicoanalista, che sono tutt'altre figure professionali, ben differenti dallo psicologo.
Si tratta di una distinzione fondamentale, da cui derivano molte conseguenze.

Lo psicologo è in realtà un professionista che si occupa anche e soprattutto di aspetti sociali, relazionali e di supporto sociale in senso lato, approfondendo temi come la comunicazione; lo studio degli atteggiamenti e delle aspettative sociali; i gruppi; la formazione; le dinamiche delle grandi organizzazioni; gli interventi di comunità.... proprio poco di "clinico" o "patologico", quindi.

Molti psicologi non hanno "mai visto un paziente" in vita loro, perchè si occupano di tutt'altro; ed è perfino scorretto usare termini come "pazienti", "terapia" o altro se si sta parlando dell'operato di uno psicologo sociale, come in questo caso.

Da decenni, in moltissimi paesi del mondo è considerato semplicemente di routine l'inquadrare nelle operazioni di gestione delle crisi (ambientali, sanitarie, legate a disastri o incidenti di vario tipo, etc..) proprio nuclei di sociologi, psicologi, operatori esperti di formazione, etc., che lavorano abitualmente a fianco degli altri professionisti dell'emergenza, quali gli ingegneri, gli architetti, doctors, geologists.

E' per questo che è stato attivato anche il volontariato locale , prima interfaccia per il supporto alle comunità locali nella gestione del territorio.
Ma come in ogni grande emergenza o crisi territoriale di questo paese, la logica normale degli interventi di protezione civile consiste appunto nell'integrare ( integrare, non sostituire ) il volontariato locale con gruppi di concittadini volontari di altre regioni , che supplementano e danno "rinforzi quantitativi" ai volontari locali nel periodo di gestione dell'emergenza.

E' avvenuto così in ogni emergenza degli ultimi anni in tutta Italia; ed ogni volta che vi è un'emergenza in una regione (che sia al nord, al centro, o al sud questo non ha mai avuto alcuna rilevanza), i volontari e le colonne mobili di protezione civile di tutta Italia arrivano a dare una mano ai gruppi locali.
Non solo non vi è nulla di strano, ma è anzi il normale funzionamento della protezione civile nazionale.
E, più ampiamente, è un fondamentale concetto di collaborazione e solidarietà tra cittadini italiani; collaborazione solidale che in emergenza viene prima di qualunque differenza professionale, regionale, o di appartenenza politica, socioeconomica o di altro tipo.

In Friuli, nel 1976, i volontari della Campania sono accorsi in forze ad aiutare i concittadini friulani, ed hanno spalato fango fianco a fianco con i volontari lombardi, friulani o siciliani; a Sarno, nel 1998, i volontari friuliani o veneti sono accorsi ad aiutare i colleghi campani, ed hanno di nuovo lavorato fianco a fianco, spalando fango. A San Giuliano, dopo il terremoto del 2002, le colonne mobili ed i volontari di tutte le associazioni d'Italia, indifferentemente dalla Val d'Aosta alla Sicilia, hanno aiutato la popolazione molisana, costruendo campi, mettendo in sicurezza le comunità local, supporting local groups in managing the crisis.

None of the volunteers, to dispel a myth, takes money, medals, or whatever for his efforts.

5) Quanti Volontari-Psicologi, e con chi ?

Si è parlato di 300 volontari psicologi. Apparentemente, un’armata. Ma i 300 psicologi sono il totale ipotizzato per tutto il territorio (10 municipalità), ulteriormente suddivisi per 10-12 turni settimanali. Quindi, si parla orientativamente di 3 (tre !) psicologi a municipalità, che lavorerebbero congiuntamente ed "immersi" in mezzo alle altre centinaia di volontari delle grandi associazioni nazionali di Protezione Civile attivate contestualmente dal Dipartimento.

6) The national volunteers (including psychologists) magically solve the structural problems of their own situation?

Obviously not, just think is unrealistic.
