I testi della band non sono mai stati resi pubblici perché gli autori ritengono che il messaggio debba arrivare esclusivamente a chi è pronto ad accoglierlo, quindi da un punto di vista ontologico possono essere considerati dei puristi/fondamentalisti (negli anni '90 l'ex cantante Gaahl - gay, vegetariano, pittore, torturatore freelance - fu anche coinvolto nel caso delle chiese cattoliche incendiate per dolo); dal punto di vista pragmatico, invece, hanno inserito, sia pure timidamente, delle "nuove" influenze derivate dal noise e l'industrial che spiccano in intervalli più che nell'amalgama della composizione.
Per quanto non sia di certo uno dei miei gruppi preferiti, devo ammettere però che Incipit Satan (l'unico loro album che ho ascoltato) me lo concedo volentieri, soprattutto quando non riesco a prendere sonno. Metto le cuffie, mi faccio qualche risata ascoltando gli arrangiamenti incredibilmente divertenti (vedi anche: goffi) e la batteria spesso insicura, e alla quarta o quinta canzone I'm already asleep.
